JAA has been awarding JAA Music Scholarships since 1985 to young talented musicians. They all have been active in the music world and will return to JAA and to the community this night. Free admission but donations will be appreciated. Please call JAA for more information and reservation.

Program will be started by Taiko Masala's Drum, Marching Band of Children, Kuni Mikami's Jazz Piano, Harmonius Presentation by JAA Chorus and Hanagasa Parade led by Momo Suzuki. Buses' departure will be at JAA at 9:45am.

JAA -HONJO SCHOLARSHIP Announcement
Through generous funding from the Honjo Foundation, JAA is looking for qualified candidates for its 2008 JAA - HONJO Scholarship. This is open to students who will be enrolled in a full time course of graduate study (except medicine, music, studio art and performing arts) at an accredited U.S. university in the New York area in academic year 2008 - 2009. The student should be able to demonstrate an interest in and ideally is already involved in furthering U.S. - Japan relations. The deadline for applications is February 15, 2008.
The following are required:
1. Resume and contact information (please include e-mail address), including expected year of graduation, work experience and volunteer/community service, if any.
2. Official Transcripts (undergrad and graduate school)
3. Two (2) letters of recommendation (at least one from a professor familiar with the student's work)
4. Essay from the applicant as to how he/she plans to help further U. S. - Japan relations through their selected course of study. (No more than 1,000 words)
We have close to $20,000 to award. Last year, the award was allocated among three students.
Please note that this scholarship is separate and apart from the one being given through the Honjo Foundation in Japan (which grants awards to Japanese students studying abroad and foreign students studying in Japanese universities.)

Twenty teams will enter these annual exciting baseball games. They will play their games every Sunday morning from April 29 to the end of July at Randall Island. The final tournament will be in August at Central Park. Which team will be The Champion this year?
